Once in a month, our bodies like to remind us that we can give birth, and this monthly cycle makes us do some weird things that oddly make us feel better. If you have experienced mood swings during periods or felt something wet and asked a stranger to check your stain, we all have been there. Experiencing funny and weird things during menstruation is something all women share with each other. Be it the sudden feeling of insatiable hunger or just the need to be pampered by someone, there are several peculiar things women feel that they can’t quite explain. There are always bizarre questions that come to mind like should you workout during periods, or what not to eat during periods that need to be answered the right way. Love them or hate them, it’s only right to embrace your time of the month with a list of funny period things we all do that you just might relate to!

1 – Procrastinate changing your pad

Sirona

RASH-FREE SANITARY PADS (XL+) – 30
₹ 419

Imagine a situation where you are finally feeling relaxed after some incredibly painful cramps and you realise that it’s time to change your pad. We have all experienced the wave of laziness that washes over you when you know you need to change your pad and you’re just like, eh, I’ll do it later. But you know that you can’t put it off forever and start wondering whether it’s bad for you. This is surely one of the funny things we do during periods because most of us are feeling a bit lethargic. However, it really is a bad idea to go for more than 7 hours wearing the same pad. For a safe and hygienic period, always be sure to change your pad regularly, so that you can feel the joy of changing it at the right time!

2 – Carrying an extra tampon/pad without needing to use it and feeling like you saved a priceless treasure!

This has happened with all of us at some point or the other in our lives. It’s a day when you commonly experience heavy flow and you decide not to risk it by carrying an extra pad or tampon with you. But you never feel the need to use it, so you return home feeling victorious and happy. These little fun facts about menstruation are what make us feel like we’re in it together!

3 – Putting in a second tampon because you forget the other one was already up there

Sirona

100 % ORGANIC COTTON TAMPONS – HEAVY FLOW | FDA APPROVED – (18 Pcs)
₹ 449

Life is busy and sometimes you tend to forget that you have already worn a tampon! That’s one of the most common things to happen to women who prefer wearing a tampon. Sometimes the string can get lost inside and isn’t visible to you, which can also confuse you to think you aren’t wearing one. But not to fret, because we have a solution for all these weird facts about periods. All you need to do is wash your hands and gently search for the string inside your vagina. If you feel like the flow is high, don’t insert two tampons, go for a biodegradable sanitary pad along with it for safety.

4 – Giving up on your blood stained underwear

No matter how careful you are, you can’t escape getting a bloodstain on your underwear. And once you do, you think soaking it in detergent will totally wash off the stain, but it doesn’t happen! So what do you do? Find some new underwear, of course. It’s alright to wonder how to avoid stains during periods, but it’s also okay to buy yourself new panties! If you are thinking about how often should I change my pad, it’s probably best to change it every 5-8 hours, depending on your blood flow. That is the best way to avoid stains and maintain period hygiene.

5 – Staring at the toilet after you pee to see how much blood is in there

This might seem to you like one of the most disgusting facts about periods, but it’s true and we all do it! It’s somehow satisfying to watch all that blood leave your body and accumulate in the toilet while you pee. So there’s no need to be ashamed because everyone does it. It’s just exciting to watch that slimy blood clot that you can quickly flush away as if it never existed.

For a fresh and enjoyable toilet experience for everyone, use Toilet Spray

6- Knowingly losing it in front of your loved ones so they pamper you

Periods sometimes make you wonder whether you are really a sane person, thanks to those unpredictable mood swings! One moment you are chirpy and the other you are crying over a sad movie scene. It’s what makes you burst out on your friends and family for some much needed pampering. No matter how many home remedies for menstrual cramps you try, nothing can beat healthy home cooked food prepared by your mom and some light exercise. But the best remedy is loads of cuddles from your little siblings or dear ones and taking care of yourself the right way.
