We’ve all had that alarming feeling of wondering if we’re pregnant when it’s been a while since the last period- regardless of whether one has been sexually active or not! This is one of the many reasons why tracking your period is so important. Tracking has changed the lifestyle game- everyone’s now tracking steps, their diets, workouts- and periods are just another thing to track.

Period Tracking

It’s a given that everyone’s experience and timeline of periods is vastly different, yet having an app to back us up with this valuable information on our cycles help immensely. Think of it like keeping a period diary- with dates, details on symptoms experienced throughout the cycle with guides on when to expect ovulation or menstruation- all of this, but online.

Old-school period tracking!

Some apps deep dive into the nitty-gritty details, but honestly, as a user, I crave simplicity. I understand that this could, in part, be attributed to the fact that my periods are fairly regular and I JUST need an app to tell me when to expect what! But if you feel the same way, I have just the thing for you. No app downloads needed! Stay on until the end of this article to know what I’m talking about!

Why you should do Period Tracking

  • Reproductive health- The menstrual cycle is the best indicator of reproductive health. Keep a tab on your the workings of your reproductive system with a simple period tracker. This helps you anticipate what’s normal and what’s not, so medical attention can be sought earlier rather than later.
  • Family planning- Whether you’re trying to facilitate or avoid a pregnancy, period tracking helps. Unprotected sex during ovulation would lead to a higher incidence of falling pregnant so plan sexual intercourse accordingly.
  • Managing moods– A few experience a rainbow of period related mood changes- there could be ups and downs. With a period tracker, it’s easier to know when to next expect a slump.

  • Overall health & wellness check- When periods are well tracked, one can either do seed cycling or exercise on the basis of where in the cycle they are.
